There too much content on the homepage. Lessen the blog articles displayed on the home page. The footer text would look better if its center aligned.

Your site's tag cloud needs more white space.

You need to learn how to tweak the WP code yourself if you want to fully control it. Use a test version of your website and play around with its code. Try to use a static page for the home page.
