I have noticed the same issue as Oliver when I did an automatic update of a couple of my sites. The problem dissapeared after manually uploading the 'js' folder in the 'wp-includes' directory.

For sure, there is no absolutes, every "truth" is open to interpretation by the individual. One persons view or opinion on something can be totally different to the person next to them.
