my work around on those cross-browser suppport is doing the layout based on ie6 browser
and the probability of not being screwed on other browsers is high, because most of the bugs came from ie so...

if you can identify which browser is not displaying properly, maybe we can help you a lot.. as i have said earlier, "there are some codes that are w3c valid but not cross browser safe"
