Yes, you are all right. The original copynprofit was from Jamie Lewis. After about 5 months he sold it to Hitesh and Jason and they have completely redone the site.

People use pen names all the time, but their own image not usually.
You could work with someone famous and then put both names on the project.
Mike Filsaime does this a lot for people with products.
