    Hi,

    he just got his site ranked at number one and now he is doing a htaccess redirect with his affiliate link for higher conversion.

    Go to Google and search this site:copypastesystems.net/

    See all the results.
    Look at the one below.

    and you see what he did

      Thank you, but I still have one question. Why does the ranking display the target the page is redirecting to (aff link), instead of the page (website page).

        Google displays the domain.
        On his server he does a htaccess redirect from his domain to the .com site wth his affiliate hoplink.
        So you will never see his "normal" site.

          So he just pointed alot of backlinks there and make a htaccess redirect?
          Is that allowed by google, and is it ethical?

            Maybe it is legal as I believe google cannot detect redirects, as for Bing the rules appear a bit more relaxed. Thats what works for me for now.

    It's not surprising.Bing is one of those search engines that doesn't filter out affiliates and will rank anything as long as it has more links pointing to it.
    I guess this is what makes google what it is today:there are many factors that contribute to a sites ranking and affilites usually perform poorly on google,understandably.
    I have worked with a client who had 1st,2nd and 3rd postion on bing for the same keyword and page content.Whereas in google he only had one site on page 1 for the main site and the other sites were nowhere to be found.
