I need a hint of legal advice on this...

So...

I have a before and after medical image that is related to my niche but is in no way related to my product.

AND

I want to say that this image is the before and after improvement of using my product.

Is that okay to do?

Should I only look for copy rights on the image or is there something else I should be aware of when using medical images?

The cost of a lawyer you use to ask this question to will only be a fraction of the cost of the lawyer you will be talking to if something turns out to get you in trouble over this.

This is not legal advice, but you should not rely on anything anybody here tells you regarding legal advice.

Trust me, they won't show up to help you on your court date and you'll just feel like a bozo for taking their advice.

    Know what I mean...?

Yeah Crowdsourcing is great and all... But you're asking for legal advice in an internet marketing forum.

Head over to Ask a Lawyer

    Bill said it just right...

As a lawyer, my advice is to ask a bar certified lawyer in Maryland concerning I.P or Copyright law in regards to the image usage.

Are you serious?! No, of course it isn't "ok" to do. Not on any level at all. It's blatant fraud, isn't it? (With all due respect to the people posting above, I wouldn't need legal advice over this, and wouldn't do it even if a lawyer said it was ok, anyway). "Copyright" is the least of your problems, over this!

I'm not a lawyer, but my advice to you would be to ask your legal/copyright advice on a public marketing forum where nobody can be held accountable for giving you bad legal advice.
