I would like to tell you that YouTube is a search engine of it's own.

To get more traffic from YouTube you must optimize your videos for keywords users are searching from YouTube search engine. most people make the mistake of optimizing their videos with keywords extracted from keyword planner.

keywords you mine from keyword planner isn't the same as youtube keyword tool. few months ago i've heard that the youtube keyword tool is down and i don't exactly know another alternative for that.

but i've come across some post recently saying we can now filter keyword planner result to show video search volume and that represent search volume from youtube. but i haven't tried it yet.

once you have search for the right keywords you then need to optimize the Title,descriptions and tags with your targeted keywords.

Another thing you can do is to set up a keyword ppc campaign in youtube. In that way you'll get real views by people that are actually interested in watching you video (if it's good). Well, I would say the best way to do that is making your video go viral also you need to understand that the parameters of ranking as well as searching over the YouTube is little more different!
