Facebook Ads + T Shirts

I just started selling t shirts online and am looking for best practices in driving Facebook traffic to my tees. I figure memes, funny sayings, etc do well.

Anyone have experience with this?

Well, are you looking to drive traffic to your tees, or drive traffic that wants to buy your tees to your tees? The first is a lot easier than the second. However, the second is what will actually generate money.

In my opinion, memes and funny sayings may drive traffic to your site, but probably not the type of traffic that will convert. It sounds like you're trying to generate free traffic that converts from Facebook with, in my opinion, is hard to do. Facebook's very nature is for people to kill time and keep up with their friends, it's not primarily an ecommerce where users are actively shopping. This means that it's harder to get conversions than places like Amazon, for example.

However, paid advertising may work. But you have to make sure your offers align with your targets expectations so that you don't get a bunch of clicks and no conversions.

Definitely free method of driving traffic is harder comparing to paid method.

If you're using Facebook ads, and learn a little how you can set up your facebook advertising... you're good to go.

Facebook ads, most people would struggle with the Pixel installing to their website correctly and another would finding targeted traffic to your website.

With that 2 parts along would take you forever to learn what you can find a course on Udemi about Facebook.

    Hi, @lemontov,
being sure your approach is with its unique twist, the only fastest and really easiest way to generate traffic AND sales is FB precisely targeted Ads, starting with $5 per day.

Yes, with PAID ads preferably. Because with free you won't succeed asap, it will certainly take might till Xmas-2017 or your lifetime, who knows now?

Unless you have a responsive List?--Then this would be your secret gear to bobsled your success just like with paid Ads!

BUT to be really successful with any Ad and/or email campaign there's a little learning curve for that. Go for it asap.

Everything in details about FB Ads you can find on FB itself. Check out case studies, first off.

Clever Ads fill your bank pretty quickly.

Also, look for the best established folks, who
shows their success over their shoulder, as it would be like holding-your-hand step-by-step tutorials.

Learn copywriting secrets obligatory, as well.
This is your longterm bet whenever it comes to sales page, optin page or email.

It's priceless time and money matter
comparing with starting just like this.

Sit down and take a paper with a pencil.
    1. Write your strategy, since everything else are just tactics.
    2. Elaborate your killer USP to catch your precise targets--KNOW THEM!
    3. Why these humans shall be interested in wearing your mêmes?
    --is this guarantee to them
be positively noticed among their gang?
--will they receive WOWz and AHAs from their relatives?

You get an idea, just work on.

Oh-well, ignoring strategy and starting with tactics you heading straight forward to failure.

Good luck and remember to share your experience in ecom world!

Optimizing... Following and going along with trends! Keeping an close eye on your successful competition.

Also understanding the traffic your targeting and probably one of the most important is understanding they are on a social media platform versus say Google or Bing search...

Sorry i don't want to discourage you and i couldn't really because i have never owned a t-shirt business so i don't know what is all about but must be hell to market it.

I have heard that many people don't make it in this business but to confort you a little i have also heard about a guy who sold 500k in t-shirts within his first year. Quite an accomplishment i think. He is selling those t-shirts with the country/state map on it.

    Good Luck!

have you tried pinterest promoted pins?

this would work if your target demo are women..

also you sell something that is visually stimulating.

or how about instagram, if your tee designs and slogans are workout related (for example).

then you can easily find a person in the same niche with a heavy following, contact them and set up a little promotion.

Wow, 500K is a lot for the first year. I am doing location based shirts as well. We'll see how it goes.

Yes, I am doing promoted pins with limited results so far. I will keep at it. Right now I only have a few designs so it will take time to have a wide and deep inventory.

    Hello there,

Basically, I do not have experience in selling t-shirts, but I hope that my perspective as your PROSPECTIVE CLIENT could help.

Yes, you can start off with adding memes and funny sayings on your Facebook page, but make sure it is relevant with the statement your shirt is conveying. Also, your Facebook page can generate more traffic when: 1.) you utilize Facebook Ads, 2.) you encourage your friends and family to share your page 3.) you offer something valuable and note-worthy to viewers who can be clients 4.) you offer discounts or freebies.

Hope this helps. Best of luck!

Meme's are great. But I am a huge fan of explainer videos. create a quick video about your individual product. Also define to a T who your target audience is. Who exactly is going to wear these. Then you "can" find them in FB groups but if you are super specific in your target audience then it is easy for you to target them in fb ads.

You can do website conversion ads. But I like starting with boosting videos just to get views. Then I will run an ad retargeting those that saw my video.

What I would recommend you to do is to create t-shirt mockups with Placeit (they are free) and then, I suppose you have a Facebook Page for your t-shirt business, so what you have to do is to create Facebook Ads in the Ad Manager section and target the customers you want to sell your tshirts too.

On the Facebook Ad Manager you will have to choose between Traffic, Engagement or Conversions. Actually, you should run experiments with each strategy, spend around $10 on each one and see what kind of Facebook advertising strategy brings you the best results.

Selling t-shirts consists basically of two things, creating attractive tshirt designs for a specific niche, and invest in marketing your tshirts. This blog post has great insight on the Tshirt marketing process. Hope it helps.

I did a few years ago, but I finally gave up because I didn't have time to do tons of tests (ads copy, images, targets etc).

Be prepared to burn some money first.
