Hi,

One of my website has been receiving a lot of traffic from Instagram. I don't advertise it on Instagram and don't make any posts on it but I am receiving a ton of traffic from the site.
My question is how can I track who or what is being shared on Instagram that is getting me so much traffic.

I tried search the name of my website but nothing shows up.

Any suggestions?

Is your website listed in your about section of Instagram?

That is strange. It there some relevant hashtag that's pulling traffic to your site?

When shared on Facebook, URLs become live. That could be the source. Even without doing so, you can still highlight a URL address, right click, and select Go to.

In any case, do a Google search using the following string to see if your site pops up.

    site:instagram.com "YOUR WEBSITE"
FYI, I can see your plants website's giveaway being promoted on Instagram. I can post the link here if you cant' find it.

I would log into your control panel with your host and check out your traffic stats there. You should see the Instagram url copy and paste it into your web browser to see where they are coming from. Even if you use a WP blog, you should have traffic stats from wordpress.com or even Google web tools if you have that set up.

If you don't have any of these set up a Google webmaster tools to track your traffic. It is imperitive to know where your traffic is coming from.

    Thanks guys for the replies!

I followed Faulkner advice (site:instagram.com "YOUR WEBSITE") and found some popular instagram accounts linking to the site. That solves the mystery .

The site doesn't have an instagram page.
