Chatbots - anybody into it?

Hey everybody,

I'm starting to experiment with chatbots (mainly for Facebook Messenger) and I was wondering what do you think about this technology.

I've even created some sort of a "chatbots builder" so I can quickly deploy bots for collecting leads, showing real estate properties or stuff like that - but what's your take on these (relatively) new tools? I target mainly SMB, do you see a market for all this?

Thanks a ton, cheers!
Silvio

    • Hey Elisabeth

I just tried the "Martin" bot and I'm really impressed! It's really a very nice piece of technology, and I love how it makes everything seem natural and seamless.

My only doubt is about the functionality itself: while it's a great proof of concept I'm not sure as a page owner I'd want to go through all this to just post an article to my page... but, again, it's probably more a demo and it really does its job!

I have created a much simpler chatbot builder platform for much more "plain" bots, hopefully useful for SMB (and agencies that sell SMM services to them). It's at https://www.chatbots-builder.com/ and it would be great to hear what you think about it.

      Thanks, cheers!

I at one time actively used it and he helped me. Cons of course he has. but it seems to me that everything will depend on the goal

You can also use growthbot. GrowthBot is a chatbot for marketing and sales -- or anyone that's working on growing a business (like startup folks). It connects to a variety of marketing systems (like HubSpot, Google Analytics and others) and databases and gives you quick, easy access to information and services.

If you own a business page then chatbots are amazing. They give your potential customer options on what they can buy while you're not around to answer them. Go for it!

It's quite good but in some instances human interaction is still needed.

Chatbots are actually effective for me. It can take a big amount of load off your customer service team. It is helpful right now especially in dealing with millennials. They are not impulsive buyers so they want to ask about the product before buying. Chatbots are also actively marketing content by interacting with your customers. It is really a helpful tool.

Using Chat-bots are really a great technique ...Using that you can easily work...but while using bots a human help is also needed.

Personally, I don't mind chatbots. If done right, they're certainly convenient to have when there a lot of customer queries. They can handle the ones that are quite easier to answer. But it's dangerous to rely only on them.

In my opinion there are some matters that need a more human touch, even if you have to outsource it to someone else. I think customer support would be the most effective if we both balance chatbots and people. Let chatbots handle the easy stuff while humans take care of the complex ones.

It is quite good when used properly but it can really get annoying at certain point.

I think you should try some other messenger, for example, telegram. Now many people refuse from FB because it is not convenient and confidential.

It seems to me that now users are using Facebook less and less. If I were you, I would switch to an instant messenger which is more popular.

Chat bots seem to be gaining steam Silvio. For a bit though I still see genuine, 1 to 1, human interaction being the best way to build business. As AI becomes more accepted and then, routine, chat bots may take over all basic tasks but not sure if we will see this in our life times.

In my opinion there should have been something much more powerful than Telegram? What about Signal ?

Chatbots are certainly fun, but I'm for old school and live promotion. I'm very annoyed by the bots myself and I would not look at bots and mailings from them.
