Creating a Facebook page for a client

Hi all,

So I'm a bit worried...

I've set up a Facebook page for a client through my agency's business manager account.

I've given them joint access and will eventually run ads for them.

The thing that concerned me was I recently read this on the Facebook website.

Claiming assets in Business Manager, whether it's ad accounts or Pages, is a permanent action. Agencies should only claim Pages they own, not client Pages.
So my question is; Have I done anything wrong in creating the Facebook page and adding the client as an administrator? Should the client have made the page themselves?

Thanks in advance.

You could have made the page for them. Or they could have made it themselves.

The way u have it, what happens when u part ways?

    Then , there's FaceBook's rule.

If you are still worried, i think you must as your next client to provide you login and password which they can change later.

I am not sure but the below mentioned may also be possible, Make them the page admin and ask them to remove you as an admin.

why not give them the username and pasword instead and use the other admin to update the page

Yeah may be you are right, but if he gives the username and password, that account may be holding other clients pages as well.

yes, you did the right thing. It's a good idea to create the page yourself and then allowing the client to maintain it. He can decide the posts he likes and prevent the confusion.

According to me, client should create the account himself, If we create, then we face more problems i.e. ip, name etc. So it's good, if client provide the account by their side.
