G+ likes to a page can increase the value of that page in search engines since many users suggest your page by g+ its recommended by google to use google plus in your websites so that the user interest for that particular page will be noted with and that can possibly help to rank your websites higher in searches......

Remember to use the rel="author" tag in the link, and list the article in your Google+ profile under "Contributor to".

In many article directories you will have a profile page. Try to link to this instead and keep your google+ link under your profile image to be displayed on each article.

It will take a week or two before the image get indexed, but you can test it in Google rich snipplets tester.

I think using as authorship plays a big role in it. Builds credibility.

Google+ (pronounced and sometimes written as Google Plus, sometimes abbreviated as G+) is a multilingual social networking and identity service owned and operated by Google Inc. It was launched on June 28, 2011.
In the "Stream," which occupies the middle of three columns on the page, users see updates from those in their Circles. There is an input box which allows users to enter a post. Along with the text entry field there are icons to upload and share photos and videos. The Stream can be filtered to show only posts from specific Circles.
"Circles" enable users to organize people into groups for sharing across various Google products and services. Although other users may be able to view a list of people in a user's collection of Circles, they cannot view the names of those Circles. The privacy settings also allow users to hide the users in their Circles as well as who has them in their Circle. Organization is done through a drag-and-drop interface. This system replaces the typical friends list function used by sites such as Facebook. After adding a user to a Circle, it isn't until they are notified and have manually drag-and-dropped the other user to one of their circles that they are mutually in each other's Circles. Since September 26, 2011 users can share Circles; it's a one-time share, so if the creator of the Circle updates the members, people's shared copies won't be updated.

I am also using Google+ for sharing my websites. I think its a good way to promote ur websites by increasing ur social network. You can add multiple professional people in ur circle (or network) at a time. In this way ur website would be visible to the people whom u added in ur circle. You can also use some other social media sites such as stumbleupon, facebook, twitter, plurk for sharing ur websites.

I use it a lot for business but for the most part I try to be personal in connecting with people.

I'm of the belief that in my business (and probably most) it's about building relationships. Not just for business purposes but for trust purposes as well.
