Comment Marketing on YouTube

Has anyone ever tried this? I've been doing some research on this and some people seem to be killing it using this technique, especially outsourcing some of the work. I know you can't embed links in comments but was wondering exactly how people are making this work?

Don't even waste your time with it. The highly popular videos are being strongly monitored, therefore, if you try to squeeze your links in there, it will get removed even before you'll greed your first 10 visitors. Ultimately, all your effort will go down the toilet.

I have to disagree with iJonathan. I tried this out and made $146 doing this in just 4 days. Some of the comments stay up for as long as a week.

That does not sound like a very sound way to make money.

          Nope, they don't.

I think there was actually a fiverr gig where you'd submit a comment and they'd like your comment 50 times so it would move to the top. The link wouldn't be clickable of course but with enough eyeballs this didn't matter. Of course as long as there aren't 2 other comments that have 50+ likes each. Never tried this so don't know the stick rate but I'd agree that this isn't a viable business model, nice for some emergency cash, though, if you can make it stick like adamreilly1997.

YouTube is a social media network and should be treated as such.

With that said it's probably best NOT to try and add any link at all.

It's best to leave a helpful interesting comment about the video in question. If you do that - some viewers will click your channel name, watch a few videos and click the links in your vids. (hopefully you have a link to a squeeze page in some of your vids)

Doesn't work all the time, but it is another way to pick up traffic.

from what i can see since i first posted yesterday is people putting the text of a link in the comment in the hope that people will manually type it in. something like, anydomain dot com or anydoman"."com

not sure i will waste any time with it but some of the people i've read up on in the youtube forum i'm part of are claiming to be making 100.00 -150.00 per day using this technique.

Comment is great, but you need to be in the top rated comments. ANd for that you will need a good bot.

Youtube commenting is not a very good idea. People will hardly follow a youtube comment link.

I think it is not a good idea because we naturally like to see only the video in youtube. Less than 10% read comments and less than 1% hit the link.
