Facebook Ad Conversions

I ran my first FB ad over a few days, I spent $15 and got a CTR of .541, about 65-likes and 0-Conversions. I had my ad directed to my FB page. In your experience, is it better to get conversions by directing the ad to your website? Any tips on getting conversion with FB? I know it is a little harder becuase people aren't signing on to FB to buy something, but I have also read in other threads on here of people saying their FB marketing is successful. Perhaps my sample size was too small to get conversions? My audience was pretty specific towards my niche, I think thats why I got plenty of likes and a decent CTR. But 65-likes & 0-conversions...

    Well, what do you consider a conversion? Technically, having the user click your ad and like the page is a conversion. How many clicks did it take to get the amount of likes you have?

    There are many things to take into consideration and I don't think anyone can help you here until you're more specific.

      Thanks for the reply. Most of the clicks turned into likes, I'd say about 90% of them. I consider a conversion a sale; if I'm going to spend x-amount of dollars on FB advertising I consider it a successful conversion to at least get the same amount in profit from a sale/conversion....preferably more of course. But at this point, even breaking even would be nice, since I was getting plenty of likes on the page.

        Regardless of the small sample size, if you are having 90% of your clicks converted that is fairly successful. Many Facebook users need a bit of time before they end up purchasing something from Facebook. This is usually after they witness some informative posts and maybe get involved in the conversation a bit so if you continue to convert Likes to your page and have a good marketing campaign within your page you will definitely convert over time.

          That makes sense, thanks. I don't have a personal FB account so I'm not too familiar with it. Will all the people who "like" my page automatically see new posts I put on my page?

    I'm totally against facebook ads. They are IMO worthless or at least good for "one or two times" only! They've got options like "remove this ad" with host of blocking options.

    Then, if a person sees your ad, doesn't care --- whats the use of spending money?

    I'd go for search engine ads as people keep searching for products throughout the year.
