Is there such an app?

i created a site for one of my clients. he's happy with it, but has asked if I can, in his own words (make it more funky!)
What he means basically is he'd like to have an app in the sidebar (using WP by the way) that updates all of his social accounts when he makes a post on Facebook.

Is there such an app? Preferably free, or low cost.
Also, Ive often seen a Facebook app in the sidebar of many marketers. it shows the profile pictures of some of your friends and I think their latest post. Anyone know which one I'm referring to?
any tips on tools I can use to make his site look a little more web 2.0 would be great and much appreciated.
