So I started a prank channel last week and we have 3 videos out, we put a lot of effort into these videos and I am little disappointed with the lack of views we have.

This is a prank by someone else... It's called 'sitting next to people'. It has 870,000 views and is utterly boring to watch.

This is one of our prank videos and it has only 2,600 views, increasing very slowly but the video is undeniably funnier.

Can someone please explain to me how these mildly entertaining videos are reaching such a high number of views, It makes no sense to me at all...

Here's another one...'staring at people'. 268,000 views in 2 days!!! WHERES THE LOGIC?

...

Is this just VERY good advertising??

    275 subscribers vs 572k+ subscribers.

When people come to youtube the channels they are subscribed to are recommended. Thus people will check out the video even if it sucks. With their subscribers I would guess a good video of theirs will get 1 million plus views since it will be shared.

I get that but how does the guy get to that amount of subscribers so fast with the kind of content hes producing... The rate our subscribers are increasing it would take us several YEARS to get there.

Maybe, he got traction by collaborating with another big YouTuber.

You're comparing 6 days of youtube to over a year. Subscribers and views grow like a snowball. The bigger you get, the faster you grow. Views don't come at an even pace over time. It grows exponentially if you keep putting out material.

I think you need to start out by seeding your views with real people. If you have the greatest video in the world but no one sees it, then no one will share it.
If you can get ten friends of yours to each tell 10 of their friends then you are on your way.

Now a days you can easily buy millions of views within a week. Every thing is a BIG LIE now and you know BIG LIE IS A TRUE LIE Quality does not matter unless it is advertised. No matter how much better and delicious you make burger but you can never compete the McDonalds... Now a days Marketing, Marketing, Marketing....

Honestly your videos are doing well for the number of subscribers you have. If you are getting more views on your videos than the number of subs you have, it means that people like your videos enough to tell people about them. This is a very good thing, because as your subs grow, so will the number of people who are doing "free" advertising for you.

The reason that other channel has more views is because they have a massive subscriber base that goes out and promotes the videos for free. You're already getting thousands of views per video with only a couple hundred subscribers, which is VERY good. Don't focus on trying to get millions of views, you need to build YouTube channels incrementally.

One thing I would recommend is starting a Facebook page and Twitter account for your channel as soon as possible; they can only help with promotion.
