Yeah, I just checked it out too. Looks like they totally neutered the application. I don't see much benefit.

My guess is that they were getting a lot of legal pushback from twitter about not operating within the Terms of Service.

My problem is that it totally kills the functionality that I was using it for. So do I get a refund because they downgraded my application?

I've been experimenting a little bit with Tweet Twain http://www.tweettwain.com/

It's nowhere near as simple to use, but might be worth a look.

A lot of the automation has gone but some still remains. TweetAdder3 can still be run at the moment as its installed in a different directory to 4 but it will be interesting to see if 3 will still run on the first of May as the registration code for the accounts run through their server.

Will they switch it off so we can't use version 3 anymore??? trying to find out and will keep you posted

That sucks. I was actually kind of interested in giving Tweet Adder a try. Oh well, there are still plenty of other ways to build up Twitter accounts.

Update, TweetAdder 3 will run until the 25th May and then get switched off. But you cant buy version 3 anymore. Was about to upgrade from 10 account to unlimited but not now.

I dumped Tweet Adder a while back when i lost 5 accounts that had over 300K members each. Add people manually its safer.

I was also interested in tweet addr, i had 20K followers and thats why its being hard to control them now =/

All of the search functions are now much more powerful, and allow you to filter and sort results based on many criteria. The interface is vastly improved, allowing you see pertinent information at a glance, see user icons, and easily find high quality users. TweetAdder4 also features multiple powerful options for deciding who to unfollow. With previous versions, the only metric was based on if someone followed you back. Now, in addition to that, you can see users who have unfollowed you, who have no profile image, use a foreign language, have a high ratio, are inactive, talkative (spammy users who tweet too often), or quiet (users who are not actively engaged). By unfollowing these lower quality inactive users, and following high quality engaged users, TweetAdder4 allows you to easily increase the quality of users following your account, making your Tweets more effective.


TweetAdder4 is uses the Twitter API & fully complies with the Twitter TOS. This is a huge improvement because you can be confident in using it, and confident in knowing that you are not violating Twitter's Terms by using it. Use of any software that violates the Twitter TOS (such as with automated following/unfollows) means that you are breaking Twitter's TOS and you risk account suspension.

One of the biggest problems I've found is that it appears you can only build a list of a couple hundred users before getting a big old error message :/ If that is the case (I didn't think I had that problem on Saturday when I tried it..!) then you might as well use one of those free unfollow tools you can get on your iPhone!

If anyone has anything else, or finds improvements, post away cookies for the best solution..

Translation: Twitter has threatened to squash us if we don't conform. We have decided to use this opportunity to make more money from our subscribers by adding features that can be duplicated by other free tools.

This seriously pissed me off. Oh well, just gotta squeeze as much as I can out of 3.0 until 25th May

I saw the mail, and felt it will be good to operate within Twitter TOS, until I upgraded and realized that automation for the most important component of the tool is gone.

Then I saw the tutorial for 4.0, and it dawned on me that the button for auto-following and unfollowing is nowhere to be found.

Hurriedly reinstalled 3.0 and will go full throttle till 25th of May.

The app's relevance will be much diminished after 25th. The core component of the tool is the ability to follow and unfollow accounts automatically.

Talking about subscription payment plans, they must be joking, not with the application's core component gone.

They should've left the auto follow and unfollow features, but with strict adherence to Twitter's TOS on follow to unfollow ratio, or maximum allowed numbers. Automation in sensible way shouldn't be an issue. Anyway, let's see how it unfolds.

Yeah i guess tweeter is clamping down on automation and such so they had to make the change. its rather sad tho.

Just found out a good way to do it;

Make sure to upgrade from the single license and you wind up with 14 accounts for $36 (with a commonly available 20% off coupon).

Otherwise you only get 5 additional accounts if you go from 5 to 10 upgrade
Much better 1>10 (plus the 1st upgrade)

I don't find it useful anymore. In fact, I stopped using it 2 weeks after I noticed the difference. I wasn't really happy about it.

Also it keeps crashing everytime you try to use it manually, they have rolled out a really shitty version 4 so as all of us don't simply demand a refund. Seriously these people are useless care very little about retaining their customers. I now waste about an hour day starting and restarting this stupid fail tweet adder four fail app. big sad face

Me too I had Tweetadder version 3 and had to upgrade to 4. I did not because I really don't like Tweetadder. The big disadvantage is you have to remain online.
Now I use HootSuit. With this I can put many ads on Twitter and on many Facebookgroups at once. Sometimes i plan for more than 2 weeks before and have not to remain online.

It is not what we paid for, but at least from my point of view, it wasn't like a "horrible" downgrade, I actually found it interesting that you can quickly select the people to follow.
The only problem I found is that it literally don't work, and by that I mean that the program kinda "flashes" all the time and after following 3 or 4 users it freezes. So it's basically useless for me right now. I heard really good things about tweet demon, but it's too expensive for me.

Btw, is anyone having the same problem as me with TweetAdder?

I created a script that automatically searches and follows new users by piggybacking onto TweetAdder 4. It is nowhere near as useful though, because it requires me to not be using my computer as it controls my mouse. This was ultimate weapon for OSX users, and I hope a good alternative surfaces sometime soon.

I had tried working with tweet adder 3.0 but got up to 2000 and could not add anymore. Now I cant add anymore people and would like to have more. Which software or technique would you suggest I use ?

You can switch to FollowLiker. It has both twitter and instagram modules.
