Hi all - so i just started looking into facebook ads and i know a lot of people claim to have 'lost their shirts' while doing this.

Today i got a very good tip from a friend on facebook which is to target your competitor fans useing 'precise interest' setting..

Do you have any useful tips for using facebook ads that you are willing to share?

I suggest you to allocate your budget for doing experiment with FB ads until you find out best CR (conversion rate) or CTR (click through rate).

You must test... test... test... test...

The best tip I can give you for Facebook ads is to optimize your ads as frequently as you can.

What this means is to create multiple ads instead of just one. See which one converts the highest (with the higher CTR) and then take that ad and narrow it down even further, by changing the gender, location, description, title, and the actual image you are using.

See which converts the highest as you go and continue to try different techniques and this will help you reach a very high CTR and much lower cost.

2 Tips (From a popular marketing group):

TIP #1: When you use 'call to action' in your FB ads, don't use 'Click Here'.
instead use 'Click me', preferably with 'female' image in your ad. This small change in ad copy does wonder to 'all' of my FB ad campaigns.

Further, to 'sky rocket' your CTR on FB ads, directly use 'Click Me' as ad headline and then use 'to [your niche]' in ad body with a close up of 'female' image. This ad completes a story.

    ------------

    FACEBOOK Tip# 2

    ------------------------------------------
When you are targeting ads to specific gender (male/female)
then in your ad headline you can directly point to them like

IF your targeted gender is Girl/women:
AD Headline 1: Hey Girl, look

(You can remove 'look', i find it another cool call to action)

    Now how it works?
There are many ads on right side of facebook wall, now as you greet the user as 'Hey Girl', it kind of, get attention as how i (advertiser) knows that a 'girl' is watching >>> this <<< ad.

    Same way for Male gender:
    Hey Dude!

    Will post more findings.

I'll def. going to try that out as well. I thought about it already, but I'm currently running a pretty successful already, with a CTR of 0,766%.

What CTR did you end up with that framed image?

You also have to check your settings for your news feed. Make sure they can be shown both for desktop and mobile. Most people use their mobile phones when they log in to Facebook.

If you want Facebook ads to do the best work for you, make sure to create lots of variations of your ads. My campaigns often have 100 to 1000 ads in them to ensure I get the highest quality score which will allow them to run for a lower cost. Assume you do not know what will work best and let the data tell you want does. Sometimes targeting a competitor's page works. Sometimes it fails miserably. If you want likes and engagement, target ads to developing countries. Most US pages only advertise in the US while most users are around the world. Think outside the box and you can get exceptional results.

    Wow, this is great.

Thank you for sharing this. This is very important especially for those who are doing business through social network such as facebook, twitter, instagram, pinterest, and etc. You can also try asking people from different places to like and comment on your page to promote.

When testing ads, create a new campaign for each ad. This will ensure you budget gets distributed evenly across all your ads.

thanks awwesome tip. I was doing this a few months ago, and when testing this works great.

      Cheers.

Also when testing your budget, I increase my CPM, and for some bizarro reason, my cost per likes went down. I do not know why, but in my testing that was the case. So try that too.

Use precise interest is not enough, you may target the right country, age...

My trick is find the best website (blog or forum...) in specific niche then use Alexa to assume my audience

    Hi,

Getting likes and getting friend requests will take time or depends on what are your strategies. For me, asking your friends and families to like your page is a good start. After, try to ask their friends and look and ask for referrals. You can also try to make other social media and try to talk to people and ask them to like your page.

In my opinion, Facebook ads in newfeeds are the best way to market on Facebook, people are more likely to like your page in that way.

To start of, this is a very useful thread to some that are new to online marketing.

Since facebook has a free fan page and like page you should take advantage from it. Make as much page and account to promote your product. This will definitely help you promote. This is also a good way to help you introduce your product.

If you can find good information from past successful campaigns and model from it -that's your ticket to success. Yes, testing is going to be important for YOUR campaign but you've got to know how much testing you can afford to do. The successful campaigns spent/wasted a LOT of money to pave the path, why not travel the same one on their dime and not yours?

Some Very good tips in this thread.

Also test "Optimized CPM" bidding option (this would automatically optimize your daily budget for most likes). I have seen almost all of the accounts which I manage perform better this way in terms of Cost-per-like.

That was actually my free wso he mentioned . An extra tip for when deciding what color to use for your frame, is to use this website which is for color scheme design: Color Scheme Designer 3 . Pick one of the prominant colors in the picture, and look at the complimentary color or triad colors. Definitely helps with choosing the color!

Create multiple ads, and the content should be as original as possible, and your page should be updated daily.

Another FB tip - is to run your ads at the appropriate times during the day.

You dont have to run ads for the whole day. You can select the times during that day that you want to run your ads.
