Quick Question about FB ads

Hi all,

I am pretty new to Facebook ads, and wanted to shoot a quick question to the community.

Is there any way to set an individual budget per ad rather than just per campaign?

I've created a bunch of ads in a campaign, but I'd like to limit them individually to test out which target audience performs best, but I only see an option to set a campaign budget and not an ad budget.

Is my best bet just creating several campaigns?

Thanks for the help!

Be careful with facebook ads.. very little success rate even on products and services that are proven winners via ppc which is rare. Tell us what your promoting and we can tell you if it will work or not based on our experience.

  • Your best bet for individual testing purposes on each ad would be just splitting them up into different campaign. Once you have found the winners, then you can put them all into a certain campaign and keep stacking them accordingly. I'd say maybe 3-5 good ads per campaign would be plenty, so just keep splitting them up until they show results... Then build each campaign.

I hope you get the concept, but that's the only way I've found it to be effective without it either being a nightmare or just taking too much time!

No you cannot set budget per ad. You can put more ads in a campaign and Facebook (presumably) figures out which is more performant and shows that one more, but I think it's better to test for yourself and put each ad in its own campaign, if you can afford it.

If you can't afford to put each ad in its own campaign just yet, then I guess you'll have to trust their algorithm .

      Good luck!

Thanks for the replies all. Yeah I just split it all up per campaign. I actually did 1 ad per campaign; slightly time consuming, but worth it to test certain interests, etc...

I took some advice I've read here about maximizing likes per dollar. It's pretty crazy how many likes you can get for as little as a dollar a day, but unfortunately by including developing nations like India, I think the engagement of those users is very poor.
