Google+ is more like a community of avid bloggers, where as Facebook is merely a large collection of stand alone pages (supported by regular members who visit pages occasionally). On Google+, you can get real conversations started with others interested in your niche. There's a better chance of finding people who are interested in your type of product or service and also less competition. Staking your claim on Google+ now, rather than waiting five years is a smart idea. Get in now, build your credibility, posts and backlinks and you'll be in a better position to cash in, if and when Google+ ever does go big.

Now a days Google is forcing people to have google plus account by default. So Google plus will be helpful to get extra leads and sales.

If you sign up for Gmail, you'll get a Google+ account anyway. So you might as well use it. There's no reason not to add Google+ to the long list of sites you are posting your content and links to. Just helpful to make a valuable contribution on this site for credibility sake, rather than just using it as one more place to backlink. Would be nice if people saw Google+ as a way to build an online community rather than social bookmarking site.

They're forcing them because no one is using it

While there are some rare cases of people using Google + to get any meaningful traffic and conversions, it still remains a rarity.

I wouldn't put much of your own energy into Google+

Maybe hire some of it out to mirror what you do on Facebook.

If you use a tool such as hoot suite, you can automatically post facebook posts on google plus and twitter too. This could maxing the return you get on time invested!

One very good way to add quality followers on Google+ fast is by asking people in your circles to suggest a circle to you. This circle will contain hundreds or thousands of others interested in your niche. For instance, if you are into Xbox games, then try to get an Xbox games circle shared with you. Then add as many people from that group as you think you can and many will actually add you to their own groups. They won't all add you back right away but it will happen over time. Just be posting what those people are interested in and you will get put into many circles fast.

As people are murmuring, Google plus impacts keywords ranking in SERP, it will be very beneficial to use Google plus. If you are successful in attracting more people on Google plus then it helps you to get more plus one, popularity on google plus and authority that somewhat matters in ranking a website and your online presence.

And, Google looks to social signals such as how many people have you in their Google+ circles, for a sign of your credibility when it comes to ranking articles/blog posts from your site. The more people that have you in their circles, the more it's assumed you are an expert in your niche. If you have a physical address Google Plus and Google Maps is worth a try. Even though it is still behind from facebook, but if you want to get a wider market its worth a shot. And it could really reach to people of who has interest on your business easier if there with in your locality and less competition(given that you have a physical address).

And, this is one of the things I like most about Google+, the niche circles. Another thing that I like are the intelligent conversations created between fans of products, services and sites. People are actually there talking to each other about important things. It's not like on Facebook where fans rarely say anything relevant on the pages. In that way Google+ is more like Facebook groups, rather than Facebook pages.

That doesn't matter that G+ is one step behind the Facebook but There is still some people who use G+ more than the Facebook. Yeah.. I know majority is facebook side but G+ is not bad. FOr a good Author you have to engage with all well known social service.

This really depends on the country you live in and if there's enough people in your area that are using G+ so you can target them.
Google Plus is great for promoting your product and it's much more user friendly without a too much annoying algorithm.
Also, on G+ you can engage with people via their communities and post as your page (a thing you won't be able to do in facebook with their groups).
In some cases G+ is pretty much wort to spend some time on. Cheers!

Google+ can be decent for getting traffic, but I haven't had too much luck with it myself. It's definitely worth using though, for SEO and promotional purposes. It can be hard promoting at first, but once you get a lot of connections it become a lot easier.

Never ignore Google+. Even though it's not a ranking factor, it can bring you micro-targeted leads. Also you can find numerous active communities on your niche, from where you can easily market your magazine.

I personally dont like G+ at all. Its a shadow of Facebook that offers no real improvement on this all ready well established platform. Also you have to remember that the entire company of Facebook is dedicated to one thing. Social Media. Where G+ is really just a small branch of a larger company. Facebook must constantly improve and adapt to its users needs in order to survive. G+ is more of an 'experiment' for Google than a real core product.
