facebook web address needs 25 fans TRUE or FALSE?

I've been trying to create a unique web address, or a username as facebook calls it, for a product page and it says

"Your page needs at least 25 fans to have a web address."

the page is new and has 0 likes, anyway it still lets me go through the process but when I enter the name it says

"xxxxxxetc is not available"

I changed xxxxxx to a very unique name like dogs67667554xyz and it still says is not available

I was able to create a unique address for another product just a couple of months ago so has something changed recently?, anybody know, I've tried to google for the answer but a lot of outdated and conflicting info comes up

    I thought they removed that a while ago?

    this was written 29 jan 2013 also it says

    This trick only works once for every profile. Subsequent pages under the same profile require 25 likes or fans.

    well I already created 1 unique page so maybe I'm done with this profile until I get likes

    also can anybody recommend a good wp pluggin for adding social media icons, I tried a few but they were not very good

    after a little testing it appears that you get 1 unique url per account requiring 0 likes, after that the 25 likes requirement appears... puzzle solved!

    Just use AddMeFast to generate enough likes.

      this depends. I've noticed that if I go to the fB fan page about setting up ads and then click to start a page they'll usually let me get a custom url without the 25 likes.
