Hi folks,

I'm new here but I've been searching about, trying to find some case studies or data on Twitter resulting in considerable traffic.

I have a potential client who is all about numbers and won't make a decision without some hard evidence and examples. We all know that social is more about storytelling and emotion, engagement and conversation and I've tried to pass these ideas on but they're sticking to their guns.

I wonder if anyone can point me in the direction of some useful numbers (if they exist) or perhaps slap me with the reality that Twitter doesn't result in all the much traffic. Even an active, social, engaging account. I'm okay with being wrong, I just want to find some real data if it's out there!

Thanks for your help!

    That is a painful situation.
You cannot know how much traffic you will be getting, everything depends on your market/product/service/work/quality/etc.

If you have something hot & viral, you might get a million visitors, otherwise zero. You have to do research, try & fail to see/understand how much traffic you can get from Twitter.

I'm agreed with you. Still people comes on twitter to tweet some beautiful thoughts and involve in trends. So they usually dont want to open any unnecessary links which may waste time. This is the reason. So if u want link should be open then you will have to do magic in 140 letters.

      PJlethal,

Twitter is an excellent source for referrals. In most cases (of any viable advertising medium), one might reasonably expect a 1 percent return on the number of targeted prospects contacted (as long as those prospects constituted a receptive audience for the particular offer). Relevance is key. If you can get your problem-solving message in front of a targeted, invested audience, you will definitely reap the benefits. Twitter works...

Twitter is great for driving traffic to free articles/videos but getting sales from tweeting a sales message with link is more hit and miss.

I don't think any one can answer this question correctly. No one can predict how much traffic they will get from Twitter.
It also depends on the followers and the offers / products you are promoting.
