Not sure where else to turn.

Hey guys. I'm the webmaster for NeverGetBusted.com and we're dealing with a bit of a crisis right now. The owner allowed an old social media volunteer retain administration access to our Facebook fan page. Things went sour, so the old volunteer removed us all from Facebook and is attempting to sell the fan page back to us, or anyone else willing to pay.

We've gone through the sorry excuse for guidance that facebook offers and are basically stuck while this guy holds our lifeblood at ransom. Has anyone here dealt with a situation like this? Does anyone have any ideas how we can regain management of our fan page? Thanks!

Sue them plain and simple for extortion. That's what it is.

You must be having some sort of communication in an email or other format, right? Use it to sue the guy and rip him off.

You should be talking to a lawyer right now. All the best.

Last message that you should talk to a lawyer is spot on.
You may need to pay the guy something to regain control of the page. After you do make sure he is locked out. Then is probably the time to sue him for extortion to try and recover the money. Alternatively he is probably committing a criminal offense so perhaps a strong letter from a lawyer will scare him into turning it over. Again we don't have all the details so this is really a situation where consulting a lawyer is not optional but required!

Go through FB's Guidelines, they'll eventually get back to you, ban him and you'll get your page back.

This will never happen. FB just doesn't care who the page admin is.

If they get a clue that something is happening, they will just delete the page as a whole and wash their hands off.
