How Profitable is the Youtube / Clickbank Method - Stats Inside

So far I haven't had much success with using Youtube to drive traffic to Clickbank offers.

Here some data:

- I outsourced scripts to be written at Fiverr
- I had random people from Fiverr do the video (3 different people)
- I used a service that includes comments, subscribers, high retention views and thumbs up
- That same service spammed the video's as well with crappy blog comments

Results:

- Video 1 ranks at #5 in Youtube, not in top 500 in Google
- Video 2 ranks at page 3 in Youtube, not in top 500 in Google
- Video 3 ranks nowhere in Youtube, not in top 500 in Google

Here the video's so you can verify yourself:

Target keyword: Reverse your Diabetes

Target keyword: Acne No More

Target keyword: Tinnitus Miracle

Total amount of hops to Clickbank: 273

Order form impression count: 3

Sales: 0

Now what did this cost me:

- 3 scripts * $5 = $15,-
- 3 video's * $5 = $15,-
- 3* youtube ranking service * $47 = $141,-

Total: $171,-

I'm a little surprised about the amount of hops compared to order form impressions so I strongly have the idea that the majority of the hops are fake/artificial, perhaps created by the person who supplied the Youtube service, who shall say.

Those doubts are confirmed even more by the fact that the large amounts of hops happened in a very small period of time, see screenshot below:



Now I definitely admit that the persons used for the reviews are in most cases not the best ones but I'm more disappointed about the influence of the youtube subscribers, high retention views, thumbs ups and comments on the video, especially as only one of the video's is actually ranking at the first page in Youtube.

Comments why 2 out of 3 video's under perform would be more then welcome, the fact that they don't rank in Google I can understand due to the pure spam and low anchor diversity being used.

      No idea really, I think 10k views would be delivered but most have in the range of 8000-8500 views so far and 2 months have passed already since I ordered the service.

    I think there was a fiverr gig that posted your vid to a bunch of different video sites like dailymotion, metacafe, etc. (There were quite a lot). Maybe try that?

    In terms of this little case study, I think there's a lot of competition for you're niches. I had a vid rank number 1, (still does), in a week or so for something that had very little youtube competition. It can work, but I would assume for most cb products it will take quite long plus you have to keep viewership and user activity constant.

      Ok, maybe that's the problem then, that the views and comments stop at a certain point so in other words you would need a real popular video and then it's still a bit of a gamble or you need to keep on buying views and such till eternity or hope that it go's viral at some point.

      I don't like it so far.

        if you are perfecting a system why not send people to an "optin" page and see if you can even get people to give you an email address?, if you fail and can't even get email addresses from your youtube views then there is a bigger problem then you think

        i'm guessing your clicks are coming from bots and outsource people not your target market

          Those clicks only came in spikes so I expect it to be bots yes, 64 clicks at 1 day doesn't make sense at all. I will start to track the view count of the video that's ranking at page one now and see to how many clicks that leads as it seems to be stable now (no more spikes for a while).

          With my next experiment I will rank some Youtube videos myself in Google. I have the idea that people who visit Youtube directly are not the ideal traffic for conversions, but more playing around.

          Once I get some decent traffic I will start to split test with opt-in pages as well.

          In all honesty it doesn't make too much sense for me to rank Youtube in Google, I can better setup a website and add a video there and rank the page of my own site. Was never too crazy about ranking pages that I don't own but did want to give it a try to see how Youtube traffic converts and how rankable it is with all the fake likes and such.

    We do about $10k per month on clickbank and you are doings the total opposite to how we do things.

    OK, I am going to let you in on a secret.

    Stop using FIVER to do crap videos, that are fake, and not doing anyone any good.

    Stop using silly descriptions..... you cannot reverse diabetes, you can help, or you can put odds in their favor. I mean. seriously, no one can reverse a disease!! or magically give a man an errection!!! I think you get my point!

    SO onto the next....

    You are not ADDING VALUE
    your are not GIVING THEM an option to DO ANYTHING

    In this day an age, and take this from someone who does well on CLICKBANK, you need to do 20 times the work you did back in 2007 to get a sale! yes!!! sorry to tell you.

    Is about building trust, building authority, giving help for FREE, yes for FREE and then let the money flow.

    Essintially in 2014 u are gunna want to build lists, of freebies, and buyers in your niche to even start to think about making money. People on clickbank do it all wrong and then say clickbank is a scam.

    The fact is there are tons of warriors who do well on clickbank, but I never see them come in an reveal it all. I have helped, but I will not reveal everything, as it has taken, money time and hard work to succeed.

    Everytime I see a post like this, I want to help more, however I think I have given enough to tell you you are doing the total opposite of how successful people on clickbank are doing things.

    Build lists, offer value, help, pour your soul into building content, NOT ORDERING FAKE VIDEOS off fiverr and you will succeed.

    Sorry for being blunt but i just wanted to help you, and wish you all the luck in the world with this.

    Clickbank is not only lucrative when done properly, its a means to an end of working a 9 - to - 5 if you really get serious about it and treat it like a business.

      Hi Celente,

      I'm gonna be honest with you as well, you make it sound very hard and I really don't like that at all as I think there are still way more easy ways to make money online by using real products instead of some crappy ebooks to reverse diabetes or cure ear ringing by reading an eBook.

      However I wanted to give it a try and see how scaleable it would be when done in this way, turns out not that interesting so I'll just stick to my Amazon sites instead.

      I won't deny that making money with Amazon is easy for newbie's as the competition got quite fierce there as well and to rank in Google there are definitely rules to follow as well or you won't get anywhere, but for me that's pretty easy as SEO is my main business and I already have the network to rank my sites.

      I will run one more test though, with another somewhat crappy video where I will rank it in Google instead of Youtube to see how well that converts, as well as setup some sites with an opt-in list and a follow up series of emails and rank those for interesting terms.

      Once I have an idea how much it can bring in when done in a crappy way I can consider to pursue it in a more professional way to increase earnings. Right now its just one of my many try outs but I like the learning process and won't make the same mistakes twice.

      Though I can see the benefits of an opt-in list it's definitely not a must, I have SEO clients who are very successful with Clickbank as well and all they do is setup a very basic site with a sales page and nothing more then that, and they bank many 1000's of dollars with very little effort.

        I am sorry if I was blunt, but we have done well on clickbank. I knew several members in here on the forum who are doing better than me,.....$10k - $20k a months, and these guys saw your post, and contacted me. They were in shock!!!

        I do not know anyone that banks BIG BUCKS, on clickbank I mean, who just set up a sales page, (a little SEO) and do nothing more than that. Its not possible these days with google.....you are just guessing, and nothing more. Ok! maybe these sorts of people will make $200 - $300 a month.....but that is NOT what I call successful.

        What I am telling you, and how we help eachother clean up on CLICKBANK, and I mean CLEANUP, its more than just a moneyspinner, like the example you gave here, its a proper business set up to last, months, years, no matter what google does.

        The examples you gave, in here, is what I call a money spinner, nothing more nothing less. Yes you might make a few hundred here, or there or sales sporadically, but that is it, ulitmately its set up for its own demise the tactics you use have a half life mate. Others in here would agree.

          Just because you don't know these people doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

          If a client returns to me month after month and adding new sites all the time I guess it should work for him no? Otherwise he would have wasted an awful lot of money already.

          Heck I know people who rank for insane competitive keywords with a single page site, nothing like those easy clickbank keywords. Do those rankings last? Nope, in his case it often only lasts a few weeks (churn & burn), while the rankings of the Clickbank sites of my customer last about 6 months so that's just a different type of churn & burn that lasts longer.

          I don't know exactly how much he makes but he has 12 active subscriptions with me of $129/month each so he must be making decent money.

          ps: The rankings of my own Amazon sites do last, cause I build better/larger sites, sometimes they drop due to a new Panda filter and then I adjust them and sometimes completely re-design them like when Panda 4.0 launched, and then they always recover, did that multiple times already and they all came back stronger.

          Not sure what you mean with clean up btw.

      I considered added some more advice to this, but I really don't think any more advice is necessary here.

      This is valuable advice from Celente that you should accept and employ, before trying to swim upstream, IMHO.

    Would just like to know if ClickBank is still working wonders like...allowing people to make 1k+ every month. Lately I went to YouTube to get some motivation from people, but all I see are marketing videos and videos from like 2011. It really brings my motivation down. I sometimes wonder if ClickBank still works or if it's just a hype as of 2014. Can someone please boost my hopes up!

      If you want sites that convert easy without all the list building needed and such just focus on real physical products like hair dryers, lawn mowers and what not. That stuff sells it self.
