PM Box Space Increased from 10 Messages for all registered users?

Over a month ago, Danieljb said in this post that the private message storage was increased to 50 private messages for all registered users.

However, I get the message saying the PM box is 90% full even though I currently only have 9 messages. Also, in the inbox, it says 'total 10 allowed.'

Those of you who are not War Room members, has your PM box space increased to 50 private messages?

With all due respect, the moderators here are extremely limited in their abilities as to what they can and cannot do. If WF were really to increase the number of PM's, it would be announced here: Warrior Forum News An announcement made anywhere else, by anyone else, should really be taken with a grain of salt.

I'm half-tempted to write an interface between the WF PM system and Gmail, which would then eliminate the message limit altogether. I wonder if there'd be any demand for such a thing?

My point was, Danieljb said in his post that they've increased the private message storage to 50 private messages effective immediately. He didn't just say they are considering implementing this. Also, he's an Administrator, not a moderator. They have more privileges I think.

And yet, nothing has actually changed. What does that tell you?

It tells me that Danieljb announced the change in the suggestions forum before seeing if the PM box space increase had actually been implemented by the technical team.

His post did specifically say registered users. So I was wondering if the PM box space increase might only apply to users who have Registered member under their username, rather than all registered users.

WF would make more money if they charged for PM access. May 3 FREE PMS and then a multi-tiered fee system.

Also, they should charge for people to have SIGS if they have less than 100 posts.

Similarly, they should charge for people to drop links in their posts if they have less than 100 posts.

I know these aren't bullet-proof ideas but they can generate money while helping clean up the place a bit.

      Not sure about this.

Then people would just post 100 post worth of unhelpful crap. The quality is already decreasing here, this would make it worse!

I say just charge for sigs.

Like this one. Instead of charging, not allowing it would be an awesome idea. No spammer is going to spend that much time just to post an affiliate link that would get taken down three minutes later

We already have a reporting system and it works.

Spam posts posted by 1 post new accounts are taken down fairly quickly.

Putting a financial incentive on Freelancer.com to crack down on instant link posts would go a longer way. It would also create a WIN WIN situation

David, DanielJB is an administrator just like Alaister. He has the power.

I can confirm that non WR members (at least one guy does) DO have access to 50 PMs.

Forgot to mention, the non WR member does NOT have "Registered Member" under their username.

Actually - there are some who have "registered member" but are not War Room members.

Remember when Allen added a "registration fee" for about a year to get rid of spammers? New members joining had to pay a $10 fee to join the Warrior Forum and they have the words "Registered Member" beneath their name.

I may have understood it wrong - but my impression was the PMs would be increased for those with "Registered User" in their profile because those people PAID something to be here.

    Hi,

The increase to 50 messages in the PM folder should be across all non War Room users. It seems that for some reason your PM box is inaccurately showing the correct number of messages being stored in your account.

We suggest logging out then logging back in.

If you still have issues, please send a ticket to Help Desk Support and include a screenshot so we can investigate.
