...and time consuming. It creates a disincentive to even bother coming here as a result. Consequently, I come here far less often than I normally might otherwise.

        FL is well aware of my disdain for Feed view and most of their other "improvements." They're like an alien race terra-forming the Earth, morphing and modeling it into something it's not in order to suit their needs.

      No, that is not a good idea at all. Huge privacy risk among other things.

    You guys are kidding, right?

    I delete cookies, cache, and active logins a "million" times a day and have no intention of ever stopping doing that.

    Aside from what everyone already knows and has known for years about how cookies track you, there is this which is much worse:

    I've stayed logged in on the WF (when it will let me) for years with no security problems.

    I don't delete cookies constantly, etc - just take basic common sense precautions with personal and financial data - and have excellent up to date virus and malware protection.

      Okay so then I guess you don't mind the privacy and potential business problems associated with allowing your every online move to be tracked by the entities that have cookies sitting on your computer.

      And as far as the other risks there go, if any of it happens, you're not exactly going to see it happen, yes? Even if you are fortunate enough that no one ever actually steals anything or makes a bad charge, for instance, which is apparently the case for you, then any successful "cookie stealing" still enables a much deeper privacy invasion than just the tracking of your every move, as in using it to take a peak any time someone wants even if they don't actually steal money or make charges - yet.

      No Kay, if you and anyone else happen to not recognize the reasonableness and normalcy of a policy and preference of deleting such things, then that would be what is unreasonable and not normal. I know that at least one of the most widely used browsers has a setting for deleting cookies automatically on browser close, for instance, and I would guess they more or less all do - and it's not for nothing such a setting exists. It's also not for nothing that the feature to remove them manually to begin with exists as well. And it's not for your best interests and respect for your privacy that some companies out there even create "super cookies" that don't even get deleted with such settings in place and you still have to do a manual delete for that kind, at least last time I checked.

      So no:

      What is going on with this entire matter here is another curious case of things getting worse and going backwards in this late year 2017 AD of the 21st century, not better. There's been a lot of that going around for years now. And a cookie based solution involving dilution of privacy and the other risks involved is not exactly an answer.

      (P.S. And yes, having and keeping everything like software up to date is merely a given.)

The site's not even https:, (yet). So yeah, consider that using cookies to log in is simply a time-saver, (from having to enter your password for every post), and if you choose to constantly delete them, then you also choose to decline all such "time-savers". So, is that "extremely inconvenient"? Yeah, probably, but it's entirely your choice.

      David, you clearly just don't really know as much as people need to about this issue. It's a choice between "deleting cookies" or "not deleting cookies." Nobody has time to selectively delete every cookie but WF's. If they did that they'd die of old age before getting their first affiliate site up online. If you have your browser set to delete cookies on close, for instance, then all cookies are gone except "super" cookies that may circumvent that. You might have accumulated many cookies by the time it's time to even consider whether you want them gone, many of them for sensitive accounts and things.

      And hello? There is still the issue of allowing your every move online to be tracked if you keep cookies. This may come as a shock, but I for one do not want the management and ownership of WarriorForum or any other site being able to do that and I have plenty of good reasons not to. Lots and lots of people feel the same.

      And frankly, in a purely hypothetical but unrealistic world in which the only cookie stealing you had to be concerned about is WF's, cookie stealers could also see your PM's, not just post as you. And you may not want that either for plenty of good reasons.

You do realize that if everyone was as anti-cookie as you, your affiliate income would drop to zero, especially for the high-ticket programs that you promote, (seeing as people with that kind of money generally take time to make those sorts of decisions).

          Yes, I grant you that is definitely ironic and funny. I have sometimes even thought about how since a lot of people are probably so oblivious and apathetic about cookies that it could benefit that way, unless there is a "last affiliate referral gets the credit" policy. However, when it comes to these programs generally speaking all you need is someone to become a lead, and that is what easily happens immediately. So the main thing you care about is the session cookie. Once they become a lead, then they can take all the time they want deciding and you're covered.
