Please Remove Time Limit Between Reporting Posts

This forum traditionally has had a 'feature' where after you report a questionable post for moderation, you cannot report another one for 60 seconds, or you get a message telling you to wait x amount of seconds before reporting the next one.

I don't know why this was ever put in, and with the recent spam blitzes hitting this forum, it's become a totally frustrating feature to me and I'm about to stop reporting such posts altogether.

I hope you either remove this soon, or explain logically why it's in there.

It is put in because to eliminate it would overload the server. It is a function of "Email Flood Check" in vbulletin.

There's one spammer right now flooding off topic with spam posts and they do not need to be reported. Any of the paid moderators who can't see what is happening, should get another job. In addition, when one spammer floods the forum, you only need to report one of them and tell them he is a mass spammer.

If reducing the time period between reports isn't an option, perhaps more "weight" could be given to the actual reports themselves. If it only took, say, two or three reports to remove a post temporarily - pending review by a mod - it would, at least, clear the forum of spam threads much faster, and might help to deter some of the persistent offenders.

If the management are wary of potential report abuse, maybe it would be possible to first test this in the Off Topic forum.
