Hey,

I hope your day has been amazing. I am currently writing this in bed before I have to get showered and ready for work.

So yes I am doing this challenge around a full time job, trying to stay in shape and spending time with my girlfriend. I'm sure a lot of you can relate to my situation.

I am entering a niche I currently don't know much about at all, (that is part of the fun, I reveal niche later). I have only set myself 90 days because that applies the pressure and I have to really hustle plus it makes it more fun for you to follow along.

My plan is going to be very simple...

Build email list then email market to subscribers daily.

The industry I will be stepping into is the CBD, Hemp/ Cannabis market. There is a massive buzz about it at the moment and I can only see that trend growing as more and more States and Countries legalise the usage.

Yes my plan is very simple but if you have been in this space for any amount of time you know there will be a lot of things I need to do, like create a free offer set up my squeeze page, set up my email auto-responder then the part everyone seems to struggle with, start driving targeted traffic.

I found an offer that I believe in, so I can confidently promote it, that way there is no internal conflicting dialog. I know what I am promoting will be benefiting the end user.

I will be sharing every step of the way with you here.

Currently there is just a bare Wordpress install on there. I will build a strong brand on it, you just watch this space.

I have also set up a few social channels that I will use to drive traffic to my squeeze page when it's ready.

Good luck with emailing to your subscribers, daily. Those are the lists that I unsubscribe from, as soon as I spot that behavior.

I would think that you would want 'honest' feedback, as opposed to 'only positive' feedback. Additionally, your links to your website, YouTube channel and Instagram feed ALL violate one of the most basic forum rules regarding self-promotion.

Somehow, I don't think that will concern you. lol

I would say at the end of the day on sunset, that no one here really really cares what you do or how it pans out, and that is not in a nasty way, just we are are ginding out our own path.

You need to have your own internal grit and motivation for this or anything you do to work, at the end of the day if it does not not work are you going to lay down the accountability partners let me down down on vynal or are we going down the mirror mirror on the wall story ?

Great to share I suppose, but dont get lost in some hazy dream that there is a whole army backing you in forum land and without them it cant be done.

So, post updates please? It's been 5 days after the post and all I see your generic wordpress post on the domain you purchased.

Not being harsh, just pointing you out that you need to pick up the pace if you are going to earn $5k in 90 days. I mean 85 days

Update time: I didn't think this thread got approved so I dismissed it and I have been on holiday in New York. I did have a lot of time to think while there so my plan has pivoted slightly. My 90 day challenge officially starts on November 23rd 2018!

Your strategy needs some fleshing out IMHO.

You need to have a content strategy, a monetization strategy, a traffic strategy and a UX (User Experience) strategy.

I see your YT and Insta traffic plan. But, starting from scratch those will take a little time to build.

What does your content strategy look like?
Do you have a content schedule? Are you you making 25% to 30% cornerstone content posts of 3,500 words or more? How long are your other posts?

I saw you're going to affiliate, what does that look like? Will the people buy online or just buy when they are making their cannabis purchase at the dispensary?

How many average items do you have to sell to hit $5K per mo?
How much traffic will it take to get to that level and is that realistic from your current sources?

Just things to think about so that you're approaching this from a way that will actually get you there.

Day 1: So the plan has pivoted some what! but before I get into that let me clear the air slightly...

It's funny reading people's comments on the thread so far, everyone is an automatic expert with their advice! when in fact their whole reason for posting is to get people to click on their signature to sell you something.

I created this thread to keep myself accountable and hopefully share some valuable insights along the way. If I am totally honest I am not looking for advice from anyone here as I cannot verify your expert status or if you have actually made any money online so you can post and say what you like but it's more than likely going to land on deaf ears.

Just a bit of back story I am not a total newbie. Here is a thread I posted on a strategy I used to make 5 figures in less than 30 days:

I could very well just do that again or coach people on that method as I have done in the past but I have plans for a very different type of business. A specific type of lifestyle business with massive amounts of scalability and potential passive income.

So on to the pivot...

While on my holiday to New York I took some time to think. I thought beyond 90 days and said to myself what could I be talking about 10 even 20 years from now and my answer was "business and marketing".

So instead of building a presence around the CBD niche where I could get bored trying to come up with things to say. I will build my personal brand and off the back off my brand I can push different offers that resonate with me. With the CBD offer being one of them.

Instead of giving away my whole plan I will document it as I do it, that way you are seeing what I actually do instead of just theory.

I'm excited I hope you are too because this is going to be epic!

That might be true, for those people selling through a signature link.

I'm certainly not an, "automatic expert." I've got 62 years of selling under my belt, which is probably more years than 99% of the people on this forum have been sucking air. lol

To me, that is exactly why this section was launched....to make you accountable to yourself.

Not to publish an idea or plan and ask 'how do I do it' - but to post a couple times a week to say 'this is what I've done so far' and here is what comes next.

I think you are wrong to ask for 'positive feedback' - but you can ignore any feedback as long as your 'warrior path' thread is updated with your progress.

Morning of Day 3: So yesterday I added a new Wordpress install on marketingwithjouvan.com that is going to be my new home on the web.

(I did once have a blog on there but I nuked it and went back into full time work while I figured out what I really want to do online)

Anyway as I stated previously I am going more the personal branding route as with that my audience can come with me in what ever direction I choose to go into because they have an affinity to me personally.

I alluded to the fact that I will be driving people to a capture form then email marketing daily. I know this is frowned upon by some but it is what marketers doing 7 figures that I want to model do.

Just look at Agora publishing who is a $500 Million beast, Ben Settle, Ryan Lee, Matt Fury all 7 figure earners that email daily. It has to be done right though, I have done it wrong in the past where I did make as much as $400+ in a single day from email but I was just promoting a new WSO constantly and very quickly burnt out my list. (I cared about the commission and not the customer)

I will not be doing that this time round. Moving forward before I send an email to my list I will ask my self;

"Is this email I'm about to send worth interrupting my audiences day for, will they get benefit from reading the email?"

If I cannot answer yes to that question then I have no right sending it to them.

It feels like I am moving pretty slow because I am a go go go type of person but I am taking things methodically and building a foundation, I want to build something that I can stand behind for years to come.

Also I am building this around other commitments, my job, gym and my other online business with my girlfriend but this is going to be my personal 7 figure baby.

Bare with me as this is going to be fun for us both as things start to take shape.

Google Webmaster Tools is you friend. There are easy ways to discover what pages and posts are already indexed and if you do not want to lose the indexed links there is an fix for that as well. Backlink wise, there may be competitors that create bad links to your site and Google can reveal and advise you How to disavow bad backlinks.

I am no expert, but SEO is important even it you just start a new venture,

Just one more thing. WordPress sites need to Security safeguards. A lot of us use: Wordfence Security - Firewall & Malware Scan | WordPress.org

Day 8: Currently in the office at my day job as I write this.

I thought it was about time I gave you an update on whats going on. 8 days in and on the surface it looks like I have done f**k all but I beg to differ.

I know my target (on here) is to create a $5,000 per month affiliate business but in reality I want something built on a strong foundation that has the potential to go into the high 6 and 7 figure realm

Well if you're going to do something you may as well aim to do it properly right?

So here's what my funnel is going to look like:

I scribbled it on a sheet of paper at work to give you a visual representations.

I will be driving traffic to at least two squeeze pages through my tracking software to find the best converting one.

After the prospect enters their email address I will get them on my list while simultaneously forwarding them to a bridge page where I give value then send them to a sales page that I control.

I plan to sell a simple sub $10 offer so I can capture buyers, know what traffic sources are providing me with the most buyers then from there sell my buyers on getting the affiliate offer I am promoting that has multiple streams of income attached.

So here are some of the tools I will need to make this a reality.

1. Tracking software
2. Landing page builder
3. Auto-responder

As you can see from the image above the affiliate offer I will be promoting pays out as much as $200 so I need just 25 sales in a single month to hit my target.

Time to start getting everything set up.

Just looking at your homepage and I would highly recommend putting your Wordpress site on a secure domain with the https. Especially for long term SEO.

  That is strange, I have already set up the SSL certificate, and is secure if I type https:// but it doesn't automatically redirect to that. I will get it sorted but it's not a priority right now. 80/20 and all that I need to get working on some takes that move the needle further.
