Using Wordpress for website

Hi everyone!

I am looking to using WP to build a membership website.

1. Which WP theme will be the most suitable? I am thinking that all WP themes support pages. Am I right?

2. Is there a limit to the number of pages a theme can support, or is this only restricted by the web host?

3. Should I use the Buddy Press plugin to manage memberships or is there a better option?

Am looking forward to your feedback. Thanks in advance!

Kenneth

    1. Pretty much any WP theme is suitable. Just choose one that has the look/feel you want to create for the site.

    2. It's not a theme limitation, rather than a WP/Hosting limitation. Unless you are going to be creating thousands of pages, I wouldn't worry about it.

    3. Depends on what features you need. DAP is very comprehensive, but may be overkill for your needs.

Thanks Peter. I understand the hosting limitation, but what do you mean by WP limitation? I am planning to build a huge membership site. We got to have goals, right?

      I will look into DAP.

      Thanks again!

Here are some good tips ....

    1. Which WP theme will be the most suitable? I am thinking that all WP themes support pages. Am I right?

    - I personally recommend you these two themes: Swift Theme or Socrates Theme

    2. Is there a limit to the number of pages a theme can support, or is this only restricted by the web host?

    - You can create an unlimited number of pages in a WordPress Site. It has nothing to do with the Hosting.

    3. Should I use the Buddy Press plugin to manage memberships or is there a better option?

    - I actually have a nice little Membership site I built for my private internet marketing trainings. If you would like to take a quick look, here it is; secrettips.org. I'm using a free plugin at the moment and it is working out very well for me!

The plugin I'm using is called: S2Member - they have a free and paid version. The free version is working out very well for me!

Building a nice membership site with WordPress is actually not a challenge and it can be done in just a few hours. I built mine in one day - what took me a lot longer was the content for it! LOL

    I hope this helps!

I wish you the best of the best!

    Cheers!

Hi Freddy, nice and simple site.

      I'll check the S2member plugin.

I am currently building a membership site. To summarize, here's my setup.
Optimize Press 2.0 + Wishlist Member
This is the best for a bunch of reasons, but mainly:
it's the synergy of ease of use with immensely powerful features that gets me.

    Themes:
Other themes you can use are the WPLMS theme available on ThemeForest. It's pretty comprehensive, and although I haven't used it yet, the theme dough says a lot.

Genesis Framework and Thesis Theme are also fairly popular and for a good reason - extensive documentation.

Just click through the popular wordpress themes on themeforest and you'll find something that suits your needs.

    Plugins:
I'd only ever go with Wishlist Member & aMember.

    Hope this helps.
