Hi

I am going to start a web design blog. I am planning to make it a robust blog. I need a lead gen system with aweber as well.

Overall, Please suggest best plugins needed to make it a perfect blog. I have just installed all in one seo and akismet already.

Regards
AB

I would install the following at least:

    Yoast SEO plugin
    Askimet
    Wordfence
    W3 Total cache

I would also consider installing a good "Coming Soon, " plugin that builds your list if the blog is not ready to launch just yet.

          I also install these:
Google Sitemap (by BestWebSoft) - to create a Google friendly sitemap
WP Smush.it - to automatically reduce size of all uploaded images
Broken Link Checker - automatically checks for broken links and notifies you if found
Contact Form 7 - simple yet flexible plugin for forms (i.e. on a contact page)

          Hope it helps.

I just started a website with income based on affiliate marketing. I use the plugin thirsty affiliates which changes your affiliate link to something shorter and not obvious that you're using it to make money. It also saves all the links you use so you can reuse them without setting them up again.

I like SlimStat - it has a real time log so that you can see exactly where your visitors are coming from :-)

I used to work with SlimStat, but since also crawlers and bots are calculated into "traffic" I changed to a webapp for user tracking, currently using goSquared and Im not going to change anytime soon

    Hi AB,

You're getting good suggestions I'd add to lean out your plug-ins collection down to stuff that you need. For example, as you get clearer on why you're blogging you'll likely use fewer and fewer plug ins, because almost all of us have fat to trim, to create a lean, mean, quick-loading blog machine.

I have no more than 10 plug-ins running at any time because I keep my blog light, and fast-loading. I also have a few core functions I want my plug ins to do, because I've a few set, core calls to action for my readers to take.

All the best with your blog!

I always make sure to install these plugins on a new wordpress website

    Akismet
a SEO plugin (I use Yoast, but there are many others)
contact form (very important to have one!)
a plugin for social media sharing (I use the Simple Share, but there are a ton of other social plugins, pick on you like)

Like most have already said, WordPress SEO by Yoast is a must, and would actually replace the need for some of the other plugins mentioned here.

Also Yoast's Google Analytics plugin makes professionally setting up your GA very easy - even complicated tracking that would normally require you to mess about with code.

I'd also put in a vote for OptinMonster - it's expensive, but it works for lead gen!

      Hey AB,
For a WP Blog I would make sure you have WP Opitns 2.0

It is very reasonably priced and gives you solid sq. page templates to use with ease
