    Honestly, once you have wp installed, just go to the themes and browse for something new. You can even tick off certain options, like 2-column layout, etc.

    Or head over to themeforest or one of any of the other countless theme producers. $50 for a good looking theme is practically nothing when you consider the time it can save you.

    I would first set up wordpress and then check out their themes to see if there is anything that may work for you and the type of site you have. Failing that I agree with thedailyalbum, looking at themeforest may be an idea. $50 is a bargain especially if you will get something you are looking for.
