Wonder if anyone else is having this difficulty and what I should do. I use Jetpack mainly for image galleries throughout my site. I have over 50 categories of pages that have galleries of categorized cartoons on them such as this one: MEDICAL CARTOONS and many others. However my tech support indicates a recent check show their logs indicating that the process using 90% CPU is: "lsphp:/home/danscart/public_html/index.php" and basically means my Wordpress Website's Homepage. Here is my homepage: CARTOONS FOR PROFESSIONAL PRINT PROJECTS so wondering if anyone sees what the problem is?

Just remove Jetpack and switched to Jetpack Lite http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/jetpack-lite/ which much-much faster and lighter than the full version.

Hi Arshid: I found out something....look inside Jetpack's specific list of modules or components and TURN OFF those that don't have any use to you. I did this PLUS had another plugin operating on my site W3TC cache plugin...I completely disabled that plugin and also disabled a few modules in the Jetpack plugin but did not disable Jetpack since I am using it for image galleries. My CPU usage has gone down to zero...what do you think?

Try activating jetpack and turn off all the components bar the carousel and see if your cpu spikes.

On the main jetpack page, press learn more on each widget and a deactivate button appears for that component.

Tho it doesn't make sense for it to do so....
Theres nothing that CPU intensive in jetpack, 'cept maybe stats, but that offloads everything to a external server, the only thing that could be really is the spelling and grammer plugin, but that would only be during publishing....

Like all plugins there is a downside to them
Jet pack itself is not so bad but if you use to many functions on this plugin then it can slow your site down a great deal

Ask your self how many of the functions that you are using do you really need on your website and turn some of the off if not needed you will see a significant difference if you sue this plugin sparingly

Thanks Barry: I discovered I also needed to update the plugin which helped. I also discovered another thing slowing down my site were added components within the plugin like you say, which I really didn't need, so disabled them...that also helped. Another aspect combined with that, was I needed to update my actual version of Wordpress....that helped. Then to top it off, I did find out that the php script which controls the functionality of my daily web comic, also needed to be edited to conform to the web host I migrated to....that helped. My "caveat-emptor" moment came upon realizing PAY ATTENTION TO UPDATING THEMES, PLUGINS, SCRIPTS!
Now upon chking the metrics of my site and the CPU usage, it is way down & back to normal. Thanks for all the input received on my question
