It didnt work out and anything else that has a ' in it is making my pages look awful. In The Kitchen, by Beth Havey is particularly horrid. This didn't happen until I bought a computer with vista on it. Any kind of a solution would make me feel better when I look at my site. Does anyone know the literal html symbol for ' and " ?

      Hi

I just looked at the source of your page and it is a mess. No structure, a million tags too many.

      I see this:

Get the idea? I've redone the main body of the page and attached it as a txt file.

Did you do it or someone else? I hope you didn't pay for it!!

      Nice story by the way.

And yes, my WSO might interest you. See below.

Thank you Mike. That really tightened that page up. I will use your advice to tighten up the rest of my pages.

But I guess most of the problem was in the FireFox memory system because after I spliced in your helpful html and went to look at it on line I have not found another ? where a ' or a " used to be anywhere on any of my 5,000 pages at Tale Wins or anyone else's pages either that I have been plagued with.
That is a great looking sales letter you have for your html book. Do you have an alternate page for non-warriors that I can direct traffic to from Build Your Own Web Site and Make Money From It ?

Actually, it was probably a UTF-8 to ANSI/ACSII conversion issue.
Vista had probably "nicely" replaced your straight quotes with left/right single or double quotes that were not in the default page characterset. such characters are then displayed as ? or the square box you (might) see in the first line of your post above.

I'll tell you what.. Every time I fire Vista up a dozen changes have been made to my computer -- from the way it sees to the way it shows. With every change made my computer slows down more and more pre-vista software gasps its last pitiful gasp.

Just a few minutes ago I fired up and suddenly I have pretty, oversized icons that don't mean a thing to me, plus my desktop has 20 more shortcuts than I had at 1800 hours.

        Hi Tales,

Just had a look at the site and it needs a bit more work. If you like I'll polish the rest up as a favour.

One thing, the paragraph "Working at home is easy" has shot to the left most probably because there's an end table tag just above it which shouldn't be there.

Thanks Mike. I'm having a great time with reading your book. I didn't see your public price anywhere. Could I have that to work it into my endorsement?
