Will websites have a fashion cycle?

There seems to be a really common theme on the internet at the moment for landing pages and blogs.

Do you think websites will develop a cycle where the old retro look will come back again?

    in my opinion, i dont think there will be the so call "old retro look" will be back... because.. the reason for the website keep changing from time to time is to get higher traffic visits your page, interactive pages on your page...not to mention... internet in on the up trend..new things will come to replace the old things...

    They already do.

    From feature-laden to minimalistic, digital hem and neck lines rise and fall.

    It's true in any industry: cars ebb and flow from square to rounded every other decade or so.

    Designers make things they think look good, not what is functional or effective. See flat design, and sliders, and the parallax single page one ply toilet paper design that looks kind of cool initially but just does not work.
