Hello eveyrone,

I am needing some help from Warriors who know their was around Wordpress. I am using the Free GeneratePress Theme. It looks to be pretty darn good. What I need help with is, I want to place my legal documents down at the bottom of the blog, using a widget. I did create pages for my legal documents, however they showed up in the top navigation area, below the header area. I don't want the legal pages to show up there, but by default pages show up in the navigation area.

How can I get these legal page links to be at the bottom, like you would see on a regular html webpage. If I put the pages in a widget, they show up at the bottom, but they also show up in the top navigation area.

I just want my blog to look like a website, with the links at the bottom where they are supposed to be.

Any help that Wordpress aficionados could give me, would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Debbie

    Hi Debbie,

The easiest way of doing it ( at least for me ) is to simply add the desired code where it is needed. What does this mean in your example? It means that you could easily integrate some hrefs bellow the get_footer () line in your file/files.

Or another ( a little more complicated ) way is to create in the footer of the page a specific widget area therefore future link changing being way easier to do ( from your admin panel)

Let me know if you found this usefull and if you still have questions feel free to send me a pm whenever you want.

    Regards

Not sure about your theme but many WP themes have the option to create both a top navigation menu and a footer menu. Just create these menus via the Appearance tab and click the Manage Locations tab to assign each menu to the proper location.

        Hi Trafficflow,

Would you by chance, know of some particular wordpress themes where I could do this? This would be really helpful I think, if I could just have that capability.

        Regards,
        Debbie

      Hi Raresmp,

Thank you so much for your reply. The problem for me is, not being savvy in regards to modifying files, in Wordpress. I used Frontpage for my websites, so didn't really have to know html, however after awhile I could manipulate the code a bit, if it was really easy to do. In Wordpress files I admit I am lost. :-(

      Debbie

      Thanks so much Aussie_Al,

I clicked on the link you provided, and I think this is exactly what I needed. So what I would do is create the pages with an editor, upload them to my server, and then put the URL to the page, in the box provided in the footer plugin, right?

Sorry I never got back to you, but I see that you solved the problem.

I just started using the free GeneratePress theme and was so impressed with it that I purchased the premium plugin to upgrade it.

You may want to consider upgrading to premium as it only cost $39
