Comment error "Sorry, comments are closed for this item"

I do web wordpress platform. I can not get it to work properly. When I try to post a comment I get the error message pops up in a new window that / tab: Sorry, comments are closed for this item. Please help me. Thanks so much

    you have to turn comments ON in your wordpress admin or in your articles

    Like Yvon said, comments need to be turned on. There is also a setting for that on each page and post.

    But it could be other things. If it's not just turning on comments, then it's hard to say with such limited information.
