My wordpress site has gone mad! help!

I'm no programming expert, tbh I am more of a beginner at basic wordpress sites, but I've set a few up before and so agreed to help set one up for my brother about a game he loves over on Chaotic TCG Masters

thought I'd got it bang on. Not great design but it was what he was looking for so was very happy about that... only now I look a bit closer it seems somethings gone wrong. using my SEO tools thingy I can see every single link, including internal ones and those in the forum, are 'no follow'

I hunted through the theme to see if I could see why and couldnt find anything (using Music Magazine Free Wordpress Theme Design theme) and so I tried changing back to the default theme just to check - and that was completely nofollow as well.

I can't work out how this happened for love nor money - the demo for the theme is all dofollow, and thats how I want it!

It's not a plugin to my knowledge - I am using

Akismet
All in one SEO pack
Google analyticator
Google XML sitemaps
Polldaddy polls
Sociable
What would seth godin do
Why do work adsense
Yet another related posts plugin

So as you can see I need help. Obviously my brother is unlikely to care but from my own point of view it's driving me nuts not being able to work it out - I actually quite liked the theme and would be tempted to use it in my own efforts but not if I am going to repeatedly do this

has anyone any idea how to work around it?

Install the Robots-META plugin - that will allow you to set site wide follow/nofollow settings as well as settings on a per post/page basis.

    Cheers,

Interesting plugin that is of use, but not right now. That plugin is great for nofollowing a bunch ot aspects, but there is no way of making things dofollow

Every single post/page write/edit screen has a little box with 4 options, of which the first (and default) option is 'index, follow'.

        Cheers,

Ah, didn't see that. Just tried it though and it's still not working. My guess is something has altered a master file that is setting everything to no follow (since it is both in the Wordpress and the SMF parts of the site it has to have some sort of overarching power)

any idea what sort of file that is likely to be?

Ok so I backed it all up then deleted everything, literally, even to the point of removing the hosting and changign the domain names and then putting them back together again.

Once I did that I did a fresh WP install via fantastico and it is STILL giving me the same problems. This is driving me crazy... anyone have any more advice?

Solved thanks to the main forum, seems all new wordpress installs have their privacy settings set to nonindexing by search engines. didnt know that was there but from now on you have to change it to make it dofollow

    thanks for the help anyway
