MailChimp Image Groups

Trying to split essentially a header image into two separate linkable images, side by side. Mailchimp want to make them and image group and automatically add padding in between. I want the images to butt up together without a gap. Is there an easy way of doing this without exporting an entire template editing and them reimporting as a "Code My Own"? thanks in advance

    I believe the way that you mentioned would be the most feasible. I've done tens of edms for Fortune500 companies and I believe this should be the best option.
