Going to use this theme to have my sisters counselling website built in WordPress.

Avada – WP Theme

Just curious as some of the things I've heard about multi site themes and so on are not good to use.

There are counsellor oriented themes should I go for this type of theme?

I'm told this Avada theme is one of the most popular and versitile themes out there.

I just would rather go with a specific theme if it means it will be better for the site in the long run.

I'm told Avada can do everything that say

Meant to say needs to be fast and not bogged down with a bunch of features I won't use but I'm told I can delete what I don't use on multi site themes. Thanks J

Yes, Avada is the best selling theme on codecanyon. You should go with this theme. Really customizable and easy to use...

  • I've used the Avada theme in the past...it's a nice looking theme but it does have TONS of features that you'll probably never use (shortcode overload).

I recommend the Genesis Framework - I use it for all my sites and it is the BEST framework for WordPress sites in my opinion...

Once you own the Genesis Framework, you can use it on unlimited sites....with any themes purchased through ThemeForest such as Avada, you need to buy a license each time you want to use it.

Thanks Chantal, I don't want to slow my website down with tons of features I'll never use like you said. So that is called shortcode overload then. Good to know a new term.

So is Genesis Framework a theme then?

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "can use it on unlimited themes purchased through Themeforest."??

Please explain. I am struggling with figuring out how to avoid this "SHORTCODE OVERLOAD" and slowing my website down.

      Thanks J

You can find all the info about the Genesis Framework on their website at Studiopress.com (not aff link)

Once you purchase a theme, you can use it as many times as you'd like (you can build as many sites with it as you want).

However, if you purchase a theme (such as Avada) through ThemeForest, you need to pay for a license every time you want to build a site with it.

Try looking for "bridge" theme on themeforest, the theme is really well made and will load fast unlike avada.

    Hi everyone,

So what am I looking for when I want to avoid this "SHORTCODE OVERLOAD" situation with a theme that has way way more than I need. I was told to "just delete it if your not using it" but some how I doubt you can just delete it.

What do I want to be sure a theme has and what do I want to make sure is extra and can possibly do without?

    Thanks J

Thanks Chantal sorry for the late reply I didn't see this post until now. So are the themes through StudioPress as good as the themes through ThemeForest? I'm really confused on this entire theme thing. You'd think it was straight forward but it's one of the most confusing aspects of building a website. I definitely do not want to be charged for a theme every time I build a website. So I guess StudioPress is the only option then? Thanks J
