Website speed optimization question for shopify

Hi, Ive been looking to buy a theme for my shopify store and found a theme that i really like but it scores really low on pagespeed test. I can fix the image optimization myself but dont know anything about javascript/css. How difficult is it to fix the javascript/css problems?
