SOLVED! How Change Text Color In Menu Bar? (WordPress)

I don't know CSS, but it's recommended I do the change to the color there. However, I don't know where "there" is at?

I found the WP support forum and there are 2 spots shown what to do:

https://wordpress.org/support/topic/...nu-text-color/

To paraphrase the above statement in the link above, it states:

"This CSS ... will work to change the text color in your menu bar (home, about us, services, etc):

nav#site-navigation a {
color: #fff;
}

The problem is it might as well be written in Braille because I don't understand a thing there. I know about color codes. All I want to do is find that area of CSS and make the code color change. I don't know whether to look in my admin control panel or go to my host server control panel.

I've been to my host server chat tech support and had 5 different conversations in 3 days. Not one of them could help except to provide help links and one YouTube video! I did get one offer from them that they will do it for me, so I broke down and said to do it. 10 minutes later on chat, they didn't know how. LOL!

Can someone offer help where I can do this myself? If it's possible, a navigation link tree would make it easy! Example: Do this first>do this 2nd>go here>do that>click that>paste here.

Your help would very much be appreciated.

    The easiest way to add CSS without creating a child theme is through the Customizer. In admin, Appearance > Customize. Then left hand column, select Additional CSS and paste the CSS into the bottom of that - make sure it's on a new line after the */

    Whether the CSS you quoted will work will depend on your theme. No way of knowing without seeing the site.

    ianpullen,

    The chat tech support agent tried that very thing and said it didn't work. I tried it too using the html color code I wanted. Nothing happens, text stays the same. I also notice after I - Save & Publish - when I come back to that area after leaving, all the code is gone, can't see it.

    I have attached a pic of the additional CSS that I see in the admin control panel.

    Thanks for your help.

    I SOLVED THIS!

    Shame on you WordPress guys. This was an easy one and no one.... oh, except me of course, couldn't find a solution!

    I was thrown off by the link I showed a WP support forum where the advice was to use CSS and do the nav#navigation thing. I distinguished the text and menu color as two different things. Well, in CSS, I have no clue, but below is the navigation I took to fix the color!

    Went to my WordPress Admin Control Panel...
    Then...
    Appearance>
    Theme Options>
    Navigation Settings

    Once there I saw - Navigation Menu Color-
    I didn't think of that because I was looking for something that said text or something related. I saw a box for the html color code for the menu.

    Next to the box it stated: "Set Navigation Menu Color"

    I thought "Menu?" While still looking for something that said "text", I changed the menu color to the color I wanted. Didn't think it would work, but the text color for each menu link changed!

    Thanks for your help ianpullen and for those who looked and maybe took some time in finding a solution.

      Sorry, didn't see your post yesterday, but glad you got it sorted.

      Theme Options isn't a standard menu item, so it sounds like your theme has added an extra screen under Appearance and may have been interfering with the Additional CSS too.

      golam007,

      I already figured out one way to do what I wanted without accessing CSS. I appreciate your offer though.

      Thank you.
