Google bugs me more and more all the time and always has but sometimes I just don't get it. They now are putting more I guess I would call it more clout on mobile searches because there are more mobile searches being done now a days then desktop.

What bugs me is did they bother to see what kind of searches are going on because I see friends doing searches on their phones all the time but it is most often for something stupid like how tall is some actor or there age and many other things along that line.

So how are the rest of us who have 100 page sites supposed to take all those pages and make them mobile. Not everything or every site is meant to have research done on a phone. Not only that but when I read an article from Google itself about making my site mobile friendly the said don't make the entire site mobile friendly only put your most important pages up as mobile.

So I did what they said then checked my mobile friendliness on Bing, yahoo and google and both bing and yahoo said my site was great for mobile. Google of course said it wasn't and were pointing out pages that were way back in the food chain so to speak of my site.

Which brings me back to Google and just why do they tell us to do one thing and then tell us it isn't any good. No one is going to plan a 3 week vacation on their phone or read 10 articles on how to do it on their phone. What has everyone else with big sites done and what has google said about your mobile fixes.

It is to your benefit to have your site mobile friendly. Always think of the end user, not about how much effort is involved for you. Are your pages easy to read on a small tablet or mobile phone? Do users need to zoom in to read the text or to scroll sideways? Have you visited your own site from a mobile device? That should persuade you to make your site mobile friendly.

You are in the business of providing information and you need to make sure that anyone on any device can access the information in an easily readable form. It's a responsibility. The technology for doing that is available and is free. Why not take advantage of that? Why not increase the readability for your users? Make your site "sticky" so that ALL users will want to stay on your site and re-visit.

Putting up just your important pages as mobile friendly is not a good idea. It would just make the site very confusing for mobile users.

If you are using WordPress or other CMS just use a responsive theme or template. It's easy to apply and your total site will be mobile friendly.

Have no doubts, Google will give preference to mobile-friendly sites.

People are using their phones and tablets for doing everything now. Booking vacations, online purchases and reading. Give yourself and your site the maximum exposure that you can.

As a user of small tablet/phones, I find nothing worse than a website that is not mobile friendly. There are millions of users like me. Be prepared for them!

If all of your pages are HTML and not dynamic, as in WordPress, then yes you would have a huge task. If you are not using WordPress or similar for 100+ pages then I would suggest that you do.
