I'm in a network marketing company. We sell natural nutrition products. I am lousy with meeting new people. I want to take it online. I have been reading and have made multiple websites and landing pages. I am in testing mode. The first thing I am trying to do is build an email list. I have tried giving away a "Wellness" book and also an "email list building" book. I am getting "0" leads.
Very frustrating. I have no one to ask questions to or get advice from. I am glad I found this forum. Anyway, I see a lot of landing pages that are very long, some that just have an opt-in form. I've tried both. Which seems to be more effective? I run ads on facebook, getting clicks, starting out at $5.00 a day. Is this not enough money? I have taken landing page templates to work from designed for the ebook, no luck. It seems that if someone clicks my ad they are interested in the ebook, but no opt-in. It's free. I don't understand where I'm missing it. Someone please give me some advice.
Thank you in advance.
Here is my website and fb ad

Please post the links to your landing pages and some screenshots of your ads. This way we can get a user perspective and see what might deter someone from signing up. I may also sign up just to test that it is working.

    Mike.
You made an opt in page longer than some sales pages.

Also, you said you were in a MLM company that sells natural products but you are giving away a free ebook on email marketing?? that makes no sense at all

He is promoting the opportunity, not the products.

      Thank you in advance.
Maybe...that is one ugly landing page. About 95% of that needs to go.

Here's a tried and true formula:

      Headline
      Sub-headline
      Bullets of benefits
      Strong Call To Action

Your right you did go to a sales page. I'm giving away the product. I might be in the health niche but I am doing some testing on how to get leads. I tried a wellness e-book with no luck. Now I am trying an ebook on building an e-mail list. The sales page says nothing about nutrition. My end goal is to have a member site for my business which will include how to's. E-mail marketing, facebook marketing etc. So I am running ads on facebook on different subjects to see what I can get working. I might be testing wrong, I just don't know.

    To take your recruiting efforts online you need 4 things;

    1. A squeeze page with an attractive promise (targeted to your ideal prospect). It only has to have an attention getting headline and perhaps some scarcity element. The form can redirect them to your MLM affiliate link/signup page.

    2. A 7 to 14 day email follow-up sequence for those new subscribers. Those emails that get sent out every day should build trust with your subscribers and entice them to join your MLM.

    3. Get a few, closely related affiliate products that you can promote via email during the initial follow up sequence above so that you can recoup the advertising costs (if you're buying traffic).

    4. Traffic. Buy some traffic to your squeeze page. You could get solo ads, or even better... go to "rocksolidtraffic" and check that out.

    Hope this helps,
    Andrew

I'd run a self-hosted WP blog Mike, like Ray Higdon. Build your list through there. with a pop up form and nice opt in form above the fold. Sell yourself and your expertise, inspire your audience to trust you, then you will see more sign ups through your email list.

Both are effective, for different audiences. That's what testing is for.

Well, actually it's NOT free. You're asking people to pay for it with their personal information. You're either going to get a lot of uninterested sign-ups (people who use a throw away email address, and just want the freebie, but will never buy anything from you)

Or, you need to create trust and credibility with any legitimate buyers, before they'll pay for your "free" ebook, with their personal info.

    Mike.
    OK, Mike,

You asked for advice (be careful what you ask for... you just might get it)

I'm going to try and help you out here (without bashing you too hard) but your sales page copy, at emailsecrets.bizyourpc .com

    - is really stinking up the place.

Let's start at the top... Usually I tell people to call out their target market right away. But you're calling out too many people at one time, with...

Attention: Business owners, bloggers, marketers, coaches, product owners...

Your program might be great for all of them, but if you try to talk to everyone at the same time, then nobody feels like you're speaking directly to them. And you end up connecting with no one.

I visited the page thinking... "I'm a business owner. Is this for me?" Then I see it is; but it's also for bloggers, marketers, coaches, etc... Now I'm thinking... "Oh great, another one size fits all, hyped up sales page."

If you absolutely feel like you need to call them all out, Mike, then try to make it more general. (not something I usually recommend) But in this case, something like - If you run an online business, then you already know that E-mail marketing is one of the most powerful methods for generating huge profits. Now you can...

Discover the step-by-step blueprint... etc.... (Your main headline itself was OK, with the trigger words, and the benefit offer... it works)

But then your bulleted list of questions has a couple grammar errors in it (little details can make, or break, your credibility)

    Moving on...

    Under the subhead...

Why Your Business Needs To Build An Email List

Here you have a couple paragraphs worth of a story, that could add some credibility to your message. But for some reason you broke it all up, and put it into a numbered bullet list. Why?

Not everything needs to be (or belongs in) a list of bullets. In this case, it's doing more harm than good.

    Then we get to

Just take a look at the follow stats:

And you list a bunch of stats. But my first question is, "where did you get these stats?" In other words... Who says so, besides you? (perhaps a reference to where these stats came from, would help)

The rest of the page looks OK (I guess). To be honest, I already stopped reading at this point, and just skimmed to the bottom. But it doesn't matter, because 99% of your visitors have already clicked away, and they'll never see the rest of your page anyway..

Also, down near your call to action, you emphasize the point that it's FREE, multiple times.

You might want to give a compelling "reason why" it's free. Otherwise, I'm thinking... "If your big selling point is that it's free... how valuable could it really be?"

In conclusion, Mike. Whether you go with a long sales page, or a short copy opt-in page, the copy you use really needs to compel people to "want" to give you their email address.

Hope this gives you something to think about.

    All the best,
