What do I need to build a website?

Hi

Please could somebody give me a quick pointer about registrars, hosting and domains etc.

Or a link to a relevant post? I am a little confused about the whole thing.

    First you need a domain and then hosting.

    Think of a high street shop. Domain is the name on the window, name of the shop.

    Then you pay for the rent for that space on the road, that is the hosting payment.

    Once done you can either hire someone like me to build your site or do it on your own. Many options there, wordpress, HTML etc.

    To build a website firstly you need to register a domain and need hosting.
    Then you need to perform static or dynamic coding to create a website. For this you can hire programmer of any technology like PHP, Dot Net, etc.

    Before taking a final decision for making a Website you must do a perfect research on it. First of all, you need to search your domain name (You can use Bluehost or Godaddy Domain Search Option). If you got your domain then need to buy hosting now. I recommend you to buy a domain and hosting from the same provider. You may face problem to arrange Nameserver if you have no knowledge in the domain and hosting setup.
    When you've finished this step you should work with WordPress (WordPress is the easiest CMS system for creating Website). You will get a lot of free Themes and Plugins to make a Website with WordPress.
