In shared hosting, one server is shared with a lot of website whereas in Managed WordPress hosting you have a dedicated space. Please correct me if Im wrong.

      That definition is entirely wrong.

There is no "shared WordPress" hosting. Unless the WordPress hosting specifically says it has non-shared resources (ie, VPS), then you should assume the WordPress hosting is always shared.

"Managed WordPress" means that the host will help you manage your WordPress site. For example: install WordPress, install plugins, install themes, troubleshoot WP code issues, etc. And most of them have very explicit terms as to which plugins/themes are and ARE NOT supported (or even allowed).

A normal host does NOT manage WordPress, and will not support "third-party" code (although some do give "best effort" for minor troubleshooting).

If you have the wrong idea of what "WordPress hosting" means, you'll be in a world of hurt when trouble happens.

Also be aware that some "WordPress hosting" is just marketing, just a fancy name for plain shared hosting. So be very careful when choosing a "WordPress host". If you want in-depth WP help, then be careful, and get one that explicitly offers it.

  • yes.. in shared one.. All websites are placed onto one server. whereas in the managed one you get pretty much dedicated space..

for further help you may contact your service provider.. ask them to guide you in the right direction.
