iframe or SSL integration for my payment gateway

I'm selling services online. I'm using wooCommerce for my entire store, even for a membership area where people can purchase and download my services.

So my question is hopefully simple. Would I need to install an SSL on my server, or would using a payment plugin suffice? The payment plugin is through woo commerce that uses an iframe without having to install ssl on your website.

If the answer is: "It doesn't matter what you use, they'll both provide the security you need," then what are the pros and cons of using one or the other? (i.e. SSL slows down the server, or iFrame doesn't provide much security, etc.)

    i have never not bothered with ssl but myself i use cloudflare as it provides a ssl certificate for free, there for your site would be using ssl always as long as you add a rule to your .htaccess file

    here is some code to add to .htaccess file to make this always https:

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example\.com [NC]
    RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.example.com/$1 [R,L]
