Joomla, using categories and article display within them.

We have a blog, and to create it we used Joomla.
It works great, but we are at a hard stop on this subject.
In a category let us say we want to display 6 articles, but that category has 15 articles in the moment related. Now what Joomla does is if you want to display 6 it will give you those 6, and will cut off the rest. The other way to do it is to choose to display all 15, but you will get a long page like that, besides what will happen when we reach 100+ articles in the category.
What we are trying to do is to create pages in a category, example we want to display 6 articles per page in a category, then the other 6 to be on next page and so on. Have anyone tried to do this? Or if anyone has any experience with this, please share it would be much appreciated.
