You can use WordPress for e-commerce sites, membership sites, photo galleries and any other type of site you can think of. The website is created using the same HTML code as any other site, so there are no limitations there either.

You can create a lot of different websites, but the custom web development gives you a lot of options to tweak and modify your website as needed. Plus wordpress websites when need to be built for heavy traffic, it does slow up! It has a pretty redundant code. For regular purposes, wordpress serves it purpose.

WordPress is great but the limitations of WP insist us to think about to find their solution immediately or switch to another platform which will be free of risks and issues. If this platform has issues there are several ways to overcome the issues.

Yes. Though I enjoy working with WordPress. There are limitations. You have to depend on plugins or custom develop a plugin.

There are issues of security. You have to upgrade your plugins regularly.

Yep, there are limitations but then you can always have a customized site as per your requirement and get the best possible results.

If you are aiming for speed and you are planning to put tons of data on the website then WordPress is not for you. You should be dealing with hard-coded websites written with popular frameworks or languages instead of a content management (which WordPress is).

WordPress is customizable if you are a good designer. And it is already good for someone who is just blogging out thoughts and news.

The majority of WordPress limitations are easily resolved by two WordPress factors:
    functions.php
    and
    the theme

As a developer you are only limited to your knowledge of the language.
As a designer you are only limited to JAVA and CSS code.
As a site owner and operator you are only limited to the theme.

When using Wordpress, try not to install too many plugins. It may work against each other.
