I am seeking the older WP theme.
The one where on the main page, one can just write a blog.
I have searched all the themes online, but unable to find this.
Can anyone please help?

    Sounds like you want something nice and simple like the '2015' theme which is basic and almost indestructible. Just upload through the usual way in your wp dashboard..

    As you are building a blog, you can take any blog oriented themes, and you can customize that theme the way you want.
    if you want very basic theme means you can choose wordpress default themes ( twenty series theme)
