Security questions on WP

Hi warriors
I am looking to pick the brain of security experts on WP installations

I think a few of my WP sites may have been compromised..
I have been planning to move my hosting to a reseller account and am thinking the best thing to do is close the hosting down and reload the sites in the reseller account.

a. Can I use the backups to reup the sites or could they be compromised also,and I should start from scratch?
b. how can I stop the constant bombardment of phishing emails to all of my email accounts associated with the site...? should I just abandon them and make new ones with diff names
so instead of info@domainname.com use webinfo@domainname.com. would that even matter?

lastly I have all the content and site files to start from scratch .. would that hurt with search engine rankings and such if I started them from scratch again ?

thnaks

Scott

    If you have a static IP-adress:
    http://blog.homebiznizz.net/access-c...s-in-htaccess/

    In your WP, to backup all posts to import into new WP:
    Go to Tools ---> Export

    I use email forwards to a Gmail account btw.
    And let Gmail filter out the crap.

    When its comes to email its best to create a unique email address as you have already suggested, as there are software currently out that guess the most commonly used emails such as info and webmaster. In regards to the wordpress the most important bit is the database. You should be able to download a fresh wordpress and follow the same step as you would if you were upgrading.
